NEW ERA Academy
Among Baltimore City's numerous and notoriously fledgling schools lies a gem. As classical or jazz music plays between each class period, scholars are reminded that this is a place where everyone believes in them - every single day.
NEW ERA Academy (NEA) opened in 2003 as an innovative high school with a clear mission: to send all of its scholars to college. With its college prep focus and no-nonsense attitude, NEA has grown into more that just an innovative high school; with HSA scores rivaling those of perennial powerhouses Poly, City, Western, and Dunbar. NEA has established itself clearly as a success. At NEA, scholars are committed to a scholarly creed based on Morehouse College's creed of excellence. This creed has already driven two classes to four years of excellence and will lead all who follow the same.
Scholarly Focus
NEW ERA Academy builds in all of its scholars the cultural awareness, self confidence, experience, academic record, skills, and access that they need to prosper in high school and beyond. Through discipline, structure, high expectations, and exploration, scholars will take personal responsibility for their education to realize their full potential.
